Kids for Christ

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” -Proverbs 22:6

Purpose - Children are a gift from God, and we believe that His love is readily available to all young people.  We have been commissioned to teach them how to apply His Word to their lives and open their hearts to His truth.  Our Sunday School teachers feel called to this ministry, and truly love sharing the joy of the Lord with young Christians.

Outreach and Action- Each year, our Sunday School students bake cookies and make cards/plaques for the homebound of our parish.  These items are delivered when we go Christmas caroling, as the Sunday School accompanies the carolers on various instruments.  This year, our middle schoolers raised funds to support a church in Nigeria by making Christmas Cards, which they sold to church members.  Our Sunday School also presents musical arrangements throughout the year to their church family.

Curriculum- We use David C. Cook’s “Bible-in-Life” curriculum.  The focus for our members is on applying the Bible to their everyday lives.  Each week, our young people are presented with a new Bible story and scripture memory verse.  They take part in fun, interactive, and meaningful lessons.  For our older members, there is an emphasis on learning to locate chapter and verse references in the Bible.

Meeting Info.- We meet every Sunday during the sermon at the 10:00 am service.  If you are between three and thirteen, or are in grades pre-school through eighth, we hope to see you there!
